Hello friends and family ,
I've written a letter to each one of my supporters explaining my next season , come this September . I wanted to share with everyone who not only supports me but prays and keeps track of my missions and what I do here at ywam sf. I don't think everyone knows yet that in September I will be moving to Ventura , CA and will be living there , close to my boyfriend . I'm so excited and more so that god totally was preparing my heart for this move and transition out of ywam.  I wanted to share a little back history - last September when I was leading my first dts I felt The Lord tell me that this was my last school , I was really confused and didn't know what that meant , was I suppose to change ministries ? Leave ywam ? I had no clue and God , knowing how much I can handle at once was only sharing that information to me , I spent the next couple months seeking The Lord and  asking what that meant - still after the school ended late February I still had no clue so I decided to work with a ministry here called because justice matters ( bjm ) and committed to help with the children and family's portion of bjm until september . Right around that time I also met my boyfriend who is brothers of a staff member here at ywam sf. I had known him for a couple years now and that last February when he was visiting his brother we went on our first date . I knew he was something special and began to date . He lives in Ventura and works there as well . We've been long distance since then. Around late may I felt like The Lord was telling me after my commitment ends in September I was to move to Ventura to be closer to Erik ( my boyfriend ) . I asked my mentors to pray about this too along with Erik - they all felt like this was from The Lord and of course I was very excited to be closet to him as well!
I've been working full time with bjm as a dance teacher , it's been such a blessing working with the girls in the tenderloin and building relationships with them ! I'll continue to work with ywam and bjm until  September 5th which is our fundraiser for the women's center which our dance studio is located at . Then the next day I'll move down to Southern California ! Don't worry I'll always stay a giants fan ;)
I already have a little studio/ in-law unit secured to live and am still looking for a job . I hope to find a job that I can use all my ywam experience in . Please keep me in your prayers!!!
Thank you all for the last 5 years of prayer and support since I've been on staff  with ywam sf.

I added some pictures below because they say pictures speak a thousand words. The end.

Just kidding!
I have been back in the states for about three weeks with the first week being jam packed of getting all the students ready to graduate. I was the school leader so I had to prepare the graduation and get everything ready on top of having jet lag but i had two weeks of recovery time afterwords which were much needed and very appreciated. I ended up staying in the city for the first week because i needed to be in my own bed. :) then  I went home last week and was able to join my dad one day for work and kids club and me and my sister also took my mommy out to celebrate her birthday. How blessed i am to be home for that week/weekend.I had a wonderful time.

During our remainder time in Thailand was very fun. We were able to join ministries that we have not been able to partner with in the past so it was much exciting.
The three of us who were in Thailand while the other part of the team traveled to India were able to connect so much more with the Thai students on base. We were able to help them in the kitchen, join bible studies and small groups along with worship nights. Of course sharing our testimonies and playing games were always expected from us. We also spent many days helping at one of the ministries called 'Ruth Center' which helps grandmothers in the slums receive an income buy sowing bags. Our job was cutting little pieces of fabric for some of the designs of the bags that the grandmothers will be sowing together. ** first top pictures are of the Thailand team cutting the fabric.
We also were able to join the Children's scholarship program and hangout with middle age students that are sent to this ministry so they can go to school. They were so fun to get to know.We joined them for dinner, played volleyball, and bible studies with them. We loved our ministry times along with our non ministry times getting to know the local shake lady whose name is love. She sure lived up to her name- we would visit her daily and we became really good friends with her. We also were very privileged to witness some of the Thai students getting baptized. what a blessing it was to see them dedicate their lives to the Lord! :)

We were reunited with the rest of our team that traveled to India a couple days before we left for San Francisco and was able to have really good days of debrief along with stuffing our faces at a Thai buffet. I ATE SO MUCH! it was so good but that was our surprise to the team! They all loved the food lol :)
We returned to the states on the 13th of February just ion time for valentines day <3 p="">I am back at YWAM now , hopefully ill be joining the Ellis room ( our drop in center) for the next couple months. :)
hope you all have blessed weeks ahead! :)

Photos from Outreach in Thailand 2013/2014

Our group of 8 ladies plus Bethany and I have been in Thailand for about four weeks now. Our time has been spent traveling up north of Thailand and visiting different churches and schools to put on Christmas parties. We sang Christmas and worship songs , shared testimonies and bible stories and performed our skits that are simple but give a good explanation of Jesus. While traveling with a local pastor of Bangkok and helping him church plant we also got to help celebrate the opening of his fathers church in one of the provinces on the mountains for New years! We were able to visit a village that had  first heard about Jesus 70 years ago when some missionary's visited their village,we were the second missionary's ever to come through their village and they were so very grateful for our arrival. We met the lady that first became a Christian and then led the whole village to know the Lord and we were able to encourage them and pray for the people there. :) God blessed us with about 7 meals every day- enough sticky rice to last a life time and a place to sleep, either on church floors or in peoples huts with mosquitoes nets to protect us. It was a wonderful 12 days of traveling and outreach up north. Then we spent a couple days in downtown Bangkok serving a ministry that helps with the homeless and prostitutes, the neighbor hood actually reminded me a lot of the Tenderloin. We were able to go around and talk to some buys selling themselves, sharing with them about Jesus and letting them know that we nor Jesus judge and they are still His beloved sons! We passed out tracks which are a huge door opener and gum as a gift to show we care for them. We also were able pass out roses to the women in the neighbor hood and were also able to cook omelets for the homeless and actually learned how to cook a Thai omelet which are so very good and one of my favorite dishes here. We have been blessed to be a part of these ministries along with some other stuff at the YWAM base in Thailand. Eight of our team just left today for India while myself and two other students stay here in Bangkok to finish out our outreach working with the YWAM base. Please keep us in your prayers! :)
God Bless!!!

11/20/13.

Outreach to : Bangalore , India and Bangkok , Thailand !

We have decided with much prayer that our locations will be set to India and Thailand this year. Which is pretty crazy because this is the first year in about 10 years that will not be going to Vietnam for our outreach. I'm sad about that but excited to see what God has in store for us in a new Country. It will be our first time as YWAM San Francisco to take our DTS on outreach to India which our base directors lived in  India for 25 years doing YWAM there so it's about time we took a team to visit this beautiful place!
Our school is going to be small traveling- me being the outreach leader I'm looking forward to the small headcount ! We will be all ladies traveling first to Thailand , staying three weeks in our Urban city location of Bangkok. We will be staying with the YWM base in Bangkok, Thailand working with already established ministries. Then we will travel to Bangalore, India for five weeks. We will also be staying with the YWAM base there and working in the villages helping with the medical trucks and teaching English. I almost forgot!!! We will be staying two weeks in San Francisco doing stateside ministries. I'm stoked about being gin the city during part of December. It's always so festive and I love the city around this time of year but am usually over seas. We will be able to partner with a couple ministries around the city along with going into the different neighborhood's of the city and doing evangelism there- my favorite is going to height with some chalk and a Frisbee to invite the hippies to hangout with us, hopefully we can build some good relationships!!!

I'm doing pretty well , I've just been very busy leading this school and planning our outreach. I'm still living in the tenderloin , in my cute little studio. I have been rooming with another YWAMer , Marta- she has been subleasing for my roommate Lindsay while she's away doing a bible school in Madison. Lindsay returns in December and Marta is able to stay and sublease for me while I'll be gone on outreach, which is a huge blessing for me!!!! I would have still had to pay rent while away and it's so nice of God to have worked this out perfect!!! I cant believe its almost Thanksgiving, seriously time has flown by so fast but at the same time I feel so busy and I've been working non stop, I feel like my heads barely above water, there's always something we need to get done and never a time to rest. It's okay because I know I can find my rest in the Lord- He's always perfect ! I have also had some health problems. besides the awesome fact of loosing 85 pounds I have also gained some not so good health issues. I have gallstones which I try to control not having any episodes by not eating greasy or fried foods but sometimes I still get throbbing pain in my stomach from them. I also just found out I have a heart problem. I blacked out the other day- and I've been getting dizzy and my vision getting fuzzy. I went to the Doctors and they had to do a EKG test which they found out today that I have a little heart problem - ill have to be put on a heart monitor for two weeks so they can see if I need medication. Please keep me in your prayers- I'm a little nervous about traveling with all my health problems going on. I feel like I'm still suppose to lead the outreach but all the prayers are much appreciated :-) Thank you!!!
Also: We got our visas back for everyone but our Vietnamese and Norwegian students , they usually take longer to process but please pray they accept their visas into India!!!
THANK YOU AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! :-)

Hello friends,
I wanted to wish everyone a happy November! The Christmas tree and ice skate rink is up in union square and that means The holiday season is upon us, so I'm told! ;)

Our DTS is going great so far. I am co-leading the school with my friend Josh. We have 9 ladies which makes it an all girls school. Something that we've never experienced before in YWAM San Francisco! It's been amazing so far , we are on our 8th week.
We have also decided that we will be going to India and Thailand for our outreach! Which our base's leaders have lived in India for 25 years and we have never been as a base before. Something else that's new for this school!!! SO EXCITED!! I'm glad we are going to be spending a couple weeks in San Francisco for outreach as well, I love the Christmas spirit in San Francisco and I am happy to be able to spend some time in San Francisco during December!! Hopefully someone will take me to see the Nutcracker ballet!!! :))))

I would appreciate prayers for our school during the next couple weeks in preparation for outreach. Our visas for India have been such a pain so far  and really hard to prepare for but our application appointment is on Wednesday! Please pray we all get accepted- We have a Vietnamese and Norwegian student with us applying for  Visas as well. :) Thanks-
Also Things with my gallstones have been mostly under control because I've been trying not to eat fatty foods- but I'm a little worried about going to India with this condition , prayers are much needed!!! :)
Thank you for loving me through Gods journey He's letting me  go through. :)
God Bless.

HELLO!

These past few weeks have been really busy getting ready to lead our discipleship training school this September. I'm being trained but often times you need to just learn how to lead while doing it. I've been scheduling speakers to come and teach different topics, like how to hear God's voice and the Father-heart of God. It's been a really good learning time for me. I'm excited about the upcoming school. Right now we only have 7 students, which is awesome but I would like to see more students rise up and want to come to a discipleship school to be trained for full time missions, ether in other country's or right here in San Francisco! I would love to see people come here that have a passion for the City of San Francisco and want to grow  closer to God in this time. We are so blessed to have a student from Korea coming here for our school and someone from Vietnam is applying as well. I'm super excited if this is what God has for our Vietnamese friend to join us for the school. We as a base has committed going to Vietnam for outreach's , I myself has gone three times , practically in every city in Vietnam but our base has gone for 12 years now. We've even sent out a missionary to Hanoi.
So you can understand our excitement for a student coming here from a closed country that we've spent years committed to praying for. What an answer to prayers!!!! He can make such a difference in his homeland with some disciplining training. :))))
Please keep our accepted seven students in your prayers as they are preparing to come here, finances is always something trying to stop the Lords calling of them coming here. Please pray as well that we get an over abundance of students wanting to make a difference and applying for our school! We would love to have 10-20 students!!!!! Would that be amazing to have 20 world changers here!!!!????

Please also join me in prayer about ways to reach our Vietnamese community right here in San Francisco!!!! I am actually having a game night TONIGHT, that's right tonight!!!! Ive spent the last couple months prayer walking Little Saigon , which it literally 5 blocks away from our base. In little Saigon there is only restaurants and Salons.I have also tried to practice my Vietnamese (all 7 words i know) by going to the restaurants but that got expensive, :) So I decided to try a game night to reach the Vietnamese , We went around asking people to write in Vietnamese a game night flier. Then we went around passing them around to everyone in Little Saigon, asking people to meet us in Quickly which is located in Little Saigon. This morning we interceded for our time tonight and prayed that people actually show up and want to play games and of course teach me some more Vietnamese!!!! :)
Please keep tonight in your prayers, that this will open the door into the Vietnamese community and we can start making a difference in our own City!!!! This is my heart, and hopefully we can start a full time ministry!
Thank you for reading about my missionary life in SF! If you ever want a tour of the city,Tenderloin or YWAM please feel free to call me! I would love to show off my wonderful city and beautiful friends that come in daily to our drop in center!

Prayer Requests:

  • I have been having awful pain in my stomach lately so last week I went to the doctors and had an ultrasound. They found gallstones in my gallbladder and my liver was infected as well.My Dr. Says I don't need surgery to remove the Gallbladder yet but since I have allot of stones, she is afraid they we get infected easier. I don't want the surgery, but I don't want to be overseas for three months and have an episode. That would be awful!  I'm trying to not eat fatty foods to avoid irritation. Please pray that the stone dissolve by them selves and I don't need surgery! Here is a good website to describe what I have and some good natural ways to get better!!!
http://www.healthcareatoz.com/home-remedies-for-gallstones

continued ....

  • I am having surgery for my cyst on top of my right foot. August 29th I will be having my cyst removed. I have had it for about two year now and it becomes very bothersome, mainly when i wear certain shoes that rub against it. I have to wear flats to avoid irritation which is terrible to walk in around the city . Please pray for quick healing after the surgery, so I can walk to and from work!
THANKS :)

Summer 2013

Hi guys,
I've had such a lovely summer so far! One of my supporters and dear friends bought me a ticket to come and see them in Arizona!  I was able to to spend a week with them in the wonderful heat:)
I was really spoiled and felt like I actually had a true vacation! It was much needed after four years in the Tenderloin :)

We even saw the Giants win the D-Backs :)

After Arizona I had a week back at YWAM, working in our drop in center and training for the upcoming school! The next week was spent in Gilroy and Morgan Hill doing some fundraising and saying Thank you to all my supporters for the prayers over the last four years!!!

BY THE WAY.... can you believe it's been four years??? A couple weeks back marked my four years being on staff at YWAM in SF!

THANK YOU

Wednesday's afternoon Tenderloin hair cutting day!
My friend, Chops and I have a ministry every Wednesday afternoon, cutting peoples hair who can't afford it themselves. We love to help people but we also have an awesome opportunity to share Jesus' love with them while they wait. That's my job!!!! Yes, along with sweeping up the hair and signing people in I also get to sit down and talk with the guys who are waiting to get their hair cut. We also play some worship in the background which makes for awesome conversation starters! It's a great way to serve our community but also get to build relationships and invite them to our bible studies and prayer tables we have during the week!

**Please keep us and this ministry in your prayers  for more focus on the Lord and how we can better serve Him during this time !!!!
